Subject: arrived in Nairobi
Well, Nearly 24 hours later we arrived in Nairobi. We are one camera and
one suitcase short-not bad for 7 travelers. We slept well last night. It
was wonderfully cool in Nairobi-over 5000 feet high so no malarial
mosquitos. The next morning on the way to the airport thru the city of 3
million we saw many well dressed Afridcan men and women walking to work.
Bouganvillea is in bloom and teh Kaffier Boom trees with large hibiscus-like
blossoms. Banana plants (no they're not trees), papaya trees, orange and
guava trees are everywhere. And there are herons all over the place. Mostly
in the trees. Merchants are walking or riding their bikes carrying their
wares on tehir heads or backs. One lady tried to sell us a tummy tightener
while we waited in traffic. I told her it was too late. Our driver,
George, mentioned the fence separating the runway from the land beyond keeps
the giraffes out of the way of arriving and departing planes.
We are staying in the Holy Spirit Hostel in Mwanza. Our terrace overlooks
Lake Victoria. Ah, God is good. It is clean and each room has a
bathroom!!!! Yea God.
in the love of Christ,
Judy Kimmer
thank you for your prayers!!
