Thursdy in Peru finds us up and moving, literally! This is the day our team starts out in different directions. Jim Milstead, Jason Knapp and Les Double are headed t Peurto Maldonado with Pastor Dario and his wife to "scout out" the area for the new church plant. The rest of the team (except John and Sharon Bayer who go Sunday) are headed to Cusco via Lima. Then we´ll reunite for our flight home Sunday/Monday.

Yesterday was an unplanned but very full and significant day. The group who went to the Annie Soper had a wonderful time sharing with the teachers and childen. They did balloon creatures and craft projects, and got the kids pretty wired! So much s that some parents called the school after the children came home to find out why they were so excited! Later in the day the group went back to teach the teachers to do the balloons, and share teaching strategies. All this in the context of showing and sharing Christ´s love. The folks who stayed at the Luke Clinic got the "big picture" of the ministry and their 5 year plan, and share concerns and encouragement. It was a helpful time in defining our relationship with them.

A highlight was our team debriefing last night, a time we share our personal reflections on the trip, and especially where we have seen Jesus and how we have grown. We celebrated this last night since it is the last time the whole team will be together. There was much laughter, a few tears and a great sense of God at work among us as we opened our hearts to one another. And boy, do we have stories to tell when we get home!! Perhaps the way in which we as a team have seen Jesus so clearly here in Moyobamba is in the service and hospitality of our hosts and the Presbyterian Church, and in the sacrificial attitude of all the laborers in ministry here. It is inspiring and humbling. We all have been touched deeply by it, and pray that our participation has been in that same spirit. Please pray with and for us as we continue on the Lord´s mission. We pray for safety as we all travel, for focus as we change settings, for openness to the opportunities God will present us, and for a continual submission to His leading and will. We cherish your prayers, and pray for you, thanking God for your support and love, and for the very warm feeling we have in our hearts for you. We love you all!

Tu hermano en Cristo,
Tom
