Subject: Here in Moyobamba!
Hola mi hermanos y hermanas!
I´m sitting at an internet cafe in Moyobamba. We made it here about 5:00 after an uneventful and very beautiful trip from Lima. All are fine, and we are getting settled into our housing - some at Juan and Estella´s (an elder and his family) some at Victor and Eliza beth´s (another elder and Hans´parents) and some at a hotel. We have been greeted and treated royally. Of course the highlight was arriving in M. and seeing these old (for some) and new (for others!) friends. We delivered our totes full of goodies to the Luke clinic, and are preparing for a day of work out at one of ythe church plants. We´ll be putting in a cement floor, and some will minister around the community. THIS IS A BRAND NEW PLANT, AND ONE dAVID m. IS VERY EXCITED ABOUT. iT IS A NEW COMMUNITY, AND THE CHURCH HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THOSE WHO ARE moving in. (Pardon the caps faux pas - I´m doing my best!!) The 2 and a half hour drive from Tarapoto (where we flew into from Lima) was breathtaking. As we climbed our way up through the mountains, it seemed as though there was a¨Kodak Moment around every bend. We snacked on yuca and drank coconut milk to kee p fresh! There was also pomarosa (a lovely fruit) and a new fav of mine - Inca Kola! We getting a good dose of Peruvian culture already. What has been incredible is how many unplanned connections we seem to be making, opportunies which we and you have been praying for that God is providing. We were challenged in our devotions today to step out, take a risk for Jesus. Please pray that we would all be open to follow God´s lead as we make ourselves available to Him. After a busy day tomorrow Í´ll have more to share, no doubt. Everyone here sends their love, and appreciates all of your prayer and support.
¡Dios te bendiga!
