Hey Dad,

I just bought a DVD player yesterday, and I don't have VHS, so definitely have her get DVDs. I really want a Tae Bo one, and if she wants to pick up some others that look good, that's cool too. Make sure that anything you send, if there are pictures of women on it, that you color over any "exposed limbs" (arms or legs) with a black magic marker. If you don't, they'll do it or just take it. But as long as it's colored over, it should be fine. Pretty funny, huh. Well, tomorrow night they're having a thing for us teachers out at Lobat's place in the country. I forget what it's called, but it's the big party that Muslims have at night when they get to break their fast during Ramadan.

Part of me thought I should fast for the day because otherwise it doesn't seem fair to get to indulge in the festivities and food at night, but eh, that was more a thought than anything else. Anyway, so I'm looking forward to that. A new teacher moved in the apartment across from mine (there's 2 apartments per floor, so I was alone up here before). her name is Ramola, and she's Indian, and she's teaching Social Sciences classes. She's really nice and her husband just left this morning--he lives in Dammam, a city on the east coast of Saudi, so I've taken it upon myself to make sure she doesn't get too lonely. :)

The kittens are doing great and keep trying to help me type. Makes it look sort of like a DaVinci code or something. It's really great having them, although they bother my allergies a little. I try to keep them out of the bedroom. Well, we were supposed to get paid today, but we didn't. Found out this happens quite often. *sigh*

I went for a walk with Lori, my downstairs neighbor and fellow English teacher, this evening, and then we went over to another friend's house and ordered pizza and watched a movie. I had a great time. The pizza hut pizza tastes pretty much the same here. I was good, only had one piece, but that was the first pizza I've had since i moved here, and now I want more! Ugh, need to stop writing about it!

Well, that's about it. Oh, I heard from Diane, she got to Iraq ok and everything. Didn't give many details about what's going on, just sent me an email to thank me for the letter I gave to her before she left. Said she'd never had so much affirmation written about/to her and that she was going to keep the letter. Good! Ok, well, I better send this before the kitties topple onto the computer again and send it for me or cause me to lose it or something!

Much Love, Lizz
